Cineworld Cinemas is a multiplex cinema chain owned by The Blackstone Group. The first Cineworld opened in Stevenage in July 1996 and the company now operates 72 cinemas in the UK as a result of its takeover of the French cinema company, UGC. Access:
Wheelchair access is provided where possible. The majority of cinemas have full or restricted disabled toilets access. At certain cinemas, disabled parking spaces and foyer seating, and automatic front doors are available. Audio description performances for the sight impaired are available at certain cinemas, and guide dogs are welcome at all times in all the cinemas. Subtitles for the hearing impaired are available at certain performances. Hearing loops are installed in all the cinema auditoria (please check with the box office whether infrared or induction is available). Type Talk calls are available on the telephone booking service.
