Our new website is almost live! Work will continue on it for a little longer, but most of the functionality is in place. For the first time, all the cultural venues in North London can be located on a Google Map, with full descriptions and photographs (to see this you.FN"ll need to access www.northlondonarts.info temporarily). WeN"ve included pubs that promote live music, comedy venues, cinemas, local museums even festivals, carnivals, art fairs and open studios. Take a look and tell us what else we should include!

The Great Hall "find a tenant" competition

Lee Valley Estates and Hiltongrove Business Space are spending .AN#10m on developing the old Leyton Municipal Offices. A part of this is the magnificent Great Hall, and they are running a competition to find a business to lease it. There is just enough time to express your interest because the competition closes on 31 May! See www.northlondonarts.info/creative-businesses-workspace.

North London arts conference, Saturday 9 June

The Cultural Olympiad starts in August 2008, just over a year from now. This is the first conference in North London for arts practitioners who work with or in their local communities where they can find out how to get involved. If you think this is for you, check out www.northlondonarts.info/olympics-2012 for contact details and a provisional agenda.

Olympics business opportunities for creative businesses, Tuesday 26 June

Everyone receiving this newsletter will receive a separate invitation to a meeting on 26 June to hear how creative businesses in North London can tender for Olympics work. Although the ODA is currently asking for tenders for infrastructure, it is unlikely LOCOG will follow suit before 2009. However, there are very strict criteria and processes that will need to be followed. This will be the first opportunity to find out about them and start planning. See www.northlondonarts.info/olympics-2012.

Workspace at N#6/sq ft for creative businesses in Tottenham

A property owner in Tottenham has made available 3,221 sq ft of warehouse/factory space specifically for a creative business (or businesses). It includes a separate office, reception area and car parking for three cars - all for N#6/sq ft. Check www.northlondonarts.info/creative-businesses-workspace for details.

Run your business from a barge on the River Lee!

British Waterways are building four "floating offices" for rent at Hale Wharf, off Ferry Lane, in Tottenham. These are going to be great spaces for businesses looking for something different! This part of Tottenham is destined for major development and nearby Tottenham Hale station is a vital link to Stansted and Stratford when the Eurostar stops there from November. The barges will be ready in September and each will accommodate up to 15 people. See www.northlondonarts.info/creative-businesses-workspace for more details.
