The East Finchley Community Festival is the oldest free festival in Barnet. Entirely run by volunteers and established in 1974 by the local residents of East Finchley, it has always sought and attracted a wide range of performers from differing cultures and origins Chinese Lion Dancers, Indian, Irish and Colombian Dancing, African drumming and Mexican groups to name but a few.
The event takes place in Cherry Tree Wood and includes a parade through East Finchley with local schools and clubs providing the entertainment.
